Junior Accountant: Duties and Responsibilities
- Process and code purchase invoices and expense claims for payment following approval procedures
- Record customer receipts and support accounts receivable activities including statement management and reconciliations
- Post journal entries and maintain the general ledger with accuracy and timeliness
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate reconciling items
- Assist with month end tasks including accruals, prepayments and ledger close activities
- Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for financial reporting
- Support payroll administration by providing required data and reconciliations where applicable
- Maintain fixed asset register and process depreciation schedules as directed
- Support preparation of VAT or other statutory returns by compiling calculated figures and supporting records

Junior Accountant: Requirements and Qualifications
- A relevant accounting qualification or part‑qualified status such as AAT, ACCA or equivalent
- 0 to 3 years of experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role, ideally within a finance team
- Good understanding of basic accounting principles and double entry bookkeeping
- Strong numeracy and attention to detail with an organised approach to work
